Netflix has released the first official trailer for the upcoming action-comedy series Fubar, which stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and is set to premiere on May 25, 2023.
Fubar follows a father-daughter team who are both hidden CIA spies. They both discover that they were deceiving one other in order to conceal their identities.
The teaser provides a brief glimpse inside the series, but it clearly shows that there is much more to come from the eight-part plot.
Nick Santora, an Emmy nominee director with extensive experience in the action and thriller genres, conceptualised and executive produced Fubar.
Santora termed Fubar "the most weird project" in an official statement, promising that the series will be "a hysterical, CIA-spy comedy blended with the heart-stopping action."
The series' cast also includes Monica Barbaro, Jay Baruchel, Fortune Feimster, Milan Carter, Travis Van, Gabriel Luna, Andy Buckley, Aparna Brielle, Barbara Eve Harris, and Fabiana Udenio, in addition to Schwarzenegger.
Schwarzenegger mentioned Fubar in his personal newsletter, saying,
"People ask me wherever I go when I'm going to make another big action comedy like 'True Lies.'" So, here it is. 'Fubar' will make you laugh and kick your expletive - and not only for two hours. You get an entire season. It's been a pleasure to collaborate with Nick [Santora], Skydance, and Netflix to provide my fans with exactly what they've been asking for."
